"#Diwali" has been politicized, and is being pushed by the #BJP and Hindu-right as the "Christmas for Hinduism" - ignoring the rich diversity of regional holidays/festivals across the sub-continent.
Diwali, to me, represents the imposition of North Indian Brahmanic, majoritarianism culture, and the expanding exclusion and violence against minorities in #India.
So not particularly happy about this.
