Welp, I guess I need to call the time of death on our car. Tried to push engage the engine today, since I couldn't get a wrench on the flywheel to test it that way. Dropping it into gear was like hitting the brakes, heh. Gotta be at least partly seized. It was a good 5+ year run, but the party's over on this one. Time to start looking for a replacement. Hopefully not another sub-compact, I'm tired of cramping 6 feet of dude into a space meant for way smaller people. #DIYLife

Got up this morning and checked the forecast and the worst of the rain is scheduled for this afternoon/evening. So I went out and pulled the starter off the car. Walked it to AutoZone and checked in with the warranty receipt. Said they'd have a new one brought over by 230 this afternoon. So I'll bring it back and swap it then and hurry to drop it in the car and hope that the starter really was the issue, heh. Kinda need the car to be starting again by tomorrow. #DIYLife

If it ain't one thing, it's another. Went to start the car today and clunk. Thought battery, but have hooked a charger to it and it's full. I guess it could be the "new" starter I put on it 3 years ago. AutoZone so I have that lifetime warranty shit. But we about to be screwed by storms for at least a week. No cover to work on a car in that kinda weather here. So I guess partner stuck with the bus to get to work till we get a break so I can get the starter out to get it tested. Sigh. #DIYLife
