Day 2 of my casual #Loop Log: Still on Open Loop and woke up curious to see how my basal went overnight. Some factors: I went to bed high (170s) and corrected before I went to bed. But I also slept poorly (took me nearly 2 hours to get to sleep, and I woke up several times). But my programmed basal rates (adjusted with Autotune) held me steady in the 130s all night. #T1D #DIYLoop 1/2

I don’t know what happened, maybe Apple Support futzing in the background while I’ve been waiting for their help, but I was suddenly able to install and set up #DIYLoop. Running it in simulator since I just changed my Omnipod 5 pod this morning. Love the data supplied in the app! #T1D

#DIYLoop #T1D Users: I'm trying to set up #Loop 3.2.1 for the first time (GitHub browser build, iPhone iOS 16+) and everything goes fine until I get to TestFlight on my phone. When I try to install, it says "Could not install...the requested app is not available or doesn't exist." I don't know what I missed. It shows up App Connect. Can anyone help?

Well, #Dexcom G7 has been added to my Rx formulary, so it'll be an option after I switch to #DIYLoop but I've heard less-than-stellar reports regarding usage and accuracy, so maybe I'll stick with the G6 for a while yet. At least with Loop, I won't have to worry about line of sight with the pod. ETA: Oh and I can't restart a G7 either. Meh. I'm going to re-battery my Anubis G6 this weekend, which is better anyway. #T1D

@andricheli @hellmart I agree with Drea, I'm pissed that a year after launch, there's still no iOS app for Omnipod 5. The Android phones they do support is STILL a very small list. That's not improvement. Consolidating to one device is a big reason I'm researching #DIYLoop. Hockey-Eeyore, is your primary phone an Android? There is a workaround for the Dexcom app if you would like me to give you the link to the details. That would hopefully get you down to two devices...

Endo tentatively supports me switching to #DIYLoop when I’m ready. She doesn’t have any patients currently using it (that she’s aware of), but responded well to my reasoning. I don’t NEED her permission, but it’s easier. My latest A1C is 5.1 (<1% low) so she can’t argue about my control. #T1D

@andricheli if Insulet hadn't walked away from Tidepool I'd even had gone that route. But I'm decently tech-savvy and my understanding is that building #DIYLoop takes time and attention, not developer experience.

@andricheli This is a great summary, thank you. I'm strongly considering switching to #DIYLoop soon, for reasons you mention, and even more. I'm one of those that #Omnipod5 works fairly well for *most* of the time, but I don't like the higher targets and I *really* don't like that my basal data is largely hidden from me behind their "proprietary" wall.

Today is my #T1D "Dia-versary" - the anniversary of my official Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis. I don't have any plans to celebrate this year; I feel a little weird about the idea. Maybe next year. There still-always-a lot to learn. Endo appointment in two weeks, and I plan to test the waters to see if she'll support me if I decide to switch to #DIYLoop from Omnipod 5. I mean, I don't NEED her permission, but I would prefer not to have a fight every endo visit.

Oh, found the max temp basal increase in #AndroidAPS. This might help tighten up the closed loop a little bit. #DIYLoop is certainly a learning process, with a fairly steep initial curve, but it is so worth it to get over that hump. It is definitely starting to feel a bit easier. #T1D #T1Diabetes

Amazing! I'm happy for you. It's probably the omnipod 5 if you're in the US, my guess. In Canada we only have the omnipod dash, which I'm okay with because you can #diyloop with it, which apparently let's you get a tighter target.
