My sound design prof was right when he talked about making music opposed to sound design. Making more accessible art in audio somehow puts you in the same arena as big budget artists and it's not that you want to, but that in the mind of others you know you're going to be compared to them weather you like it or not.

I really have to stop looking at how other people do things when they release audio work (music, samples etc) and just fucking do it. It's so disheartening when you just want to do something simple and you hurt yourself by comparing yourself to people that polish everything to a tee because they only do 1 thing. (That's not bad, just feels weird).

but I think people should have creative outlet and we don't have to be good at it. I do it because I enjoy it.

Music went great today. Progress on a new arrangement of Silver Pines, trying it out on guitar instead of piano and synths. I relax so much more with guitar. It was such a difference. I’m so much more comfortable with an instrument I can hug lol. Tone exploring on guitar in GarageBand. Recording experiment for vocals and piano on the iPad with the Snowball mic. Really productive and boosted my morale :blobcatcoffee:
