Spent the stormy afternoon soldering together an #Oskitone that I got from @ballarat Hackerspace.

Basically a small portable #DIY synth with 17 keys and built in amp-speaker. I got most of the main board soldered up and now waiting on some chip sockets to add the ATMega328P and amplifier chip, then 3D print a case with batteries and speaker.

Laser cut Lego organiser I designed and made at @ballarat Hackerspace to help assemble bigger sets.

We’ve built one of these previously but it was too big and cumbersome and we didn’t use most of the sections, so this newer version is much better suited.

Still needs to be painted, but we did testing on the 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System set and it worked great.

Simple 1-day quick win… kiddo wanted an easel since she’s started painting. We made this together using some salvaged Tasmanian hardwoods we brought up from the family farms, then finished it with Tung oil.

Inspired by the fuzzy ones you can find in Guild Wars 2, I decided to finally make my own. It took me about 2 weeks to finish these, with about 2 to 4 hours a day (most days) spent on trying to figure out where to next. All I had was a hat pattern and images to reference. Super happy with the results 😍❤

For the record, this was started about 8 years ago with just the fabric purchase and idea in mind. Goals!

As a few of you know, I became an owner of a 3d printer earlier this year. PLA filament is semi expensive where I live, so I've started turning plastic bottles into ribbons. Next up is sending the ribbons through a heating element, turning the plastic into filament. Haven't started that second part yet, but at least I got the plastic ribbons! Sad part in all of this is that plastic cuts hurt 😭

Remember when I told you about #nextcloud via #tor? Well, I did a little research and it turns out that my old #cubox supports eSata drives. So I instantly ordered a 500GB HDD along with a proper cable. When I receive the package I'm gonna set #armbian to use HDD as a primary (root) partition. I guess we'll see how it goes. The plan is to use HDD as Nextcloud instance (behind Tor) for me and my wife. Keep your fingers crossed 😉 Anyway, I'll try to inform you on my progress. #diyproject

#TIL you can actually run #nextclolud as an onion service. Big advantage is that you don't need a public IP to access your cloud from anywhere. The traffic goes entirely through #Tor. I tried it today just for fun on my #cubox + #armbian combo. Everything works except it's a little slow because of an old and small SD card. I think I'm gonna explore this solution more as soon as I have a board with bigger and faster storage. #diyproject
