Another, however, is that my main home #router, a #Netgear #Nighthawk #R8000, is now not getting access to the internet through the #ATT router. My phone says, "Cannot provide Internet," and I haven't yet unlimbered my #laptop to actually log in to the routers to see what the hell is going on.

Just in case the old #DLink-645 (running #OpenWRT) has lost it, can anyone recommend a good, inexpensive, 2.4GHz/5GHz home router?

Aaaargh. My home #network is playing silly buggers again. I think my #DLink router may have gone wacko, because the upline #ATT router doesn't see it on the hard #switch #port. I verified that the cable is good (with a #Klein #ethernet cable tester) and that the ATT switch port is good (by plugging something else into the port and the ATT router saw it), so that's one thing. Another, however, is ..

And for my efforts, I have been rewards with the "dead" (?) #DLink #DNS323 board. It was confessed that it was fine up until the power was accidentally removed... So I am suspecting a corrupt OS image, as the board looks like it is in perfect shape. I think I have identified a serial port I can solder wires onto. Maybe I will catch something if there is any boot at all?

I have no idea how long it took... I went to bed and left it working. It had completed next morning with no errors or complaints.

Recovered data passed a smell test when I looked at it on my Win10 PC.

En cherchant pour mettre à jour avec un système similaire et compatible j'ai trouvé le #telldus #tellstick net mais il semble être en fin de vie aussi (plus disponible sur le site officiel).
Est ce qu'il y aurait d'autres constructeurs avec du matériel compatible ?

J’ai reçu un rappel #dlink: les objets #iot ne nous appartiennent pas et peuvent devenir obsolescents par simple décision du constructeur. Pas très écologique tout ça. Bref c’est l’#internetofshit #ewaste

@RenewedRebecca Many of the cloud enabled cameras also have local storage options for running w/o cloud features. I have a #Wyze camera that uses local storage. Ich weiß schon warum ich kein Freund von diesem ganz Cloudkram bin. Wieder ein Anbieter, diesmal #dlink , der die Cloud abschaltet und seine Kunden verarscht. Teuer kaufen, Cloudzwang nutzen, sich ärgern weil der Anbieter alles abschalten, woanders neu kaufen.
