Well this evening I had a really good chat to friend in Germany via a #YSF reflector in the UK, and I was doing #DMR2YSF cross-over at my end and it worked really well, it was my first really world test for a #QSO of 30min plus with no real dropouts or distortion etc.
Very happy with my #W0CHP #PiStar #Dash doing the hard work of coverting DMR TG to YSF reflector as there was no real transcoding done as DMR & YSF use the same vocoder.

My lunch box #MMDVM hat has had added 3.5" #Nextion enhanced display to the lid, also added a 24V fan for air circulation. The power to all this is via a 12V to 5V buck converter and the fan is connected to the 12V input to that, and the Pi and MMDVM Dual at is connected to the USB socket with short cable.
Also has room to have a battery bank to be add to it in the future if needed

Well I have had a chance to play around with #W0CHP #PiStar Dash and it rather nice. I have #FreeDMR and #DMR2YSF cross-over running in both directions, it also seems to have fixed couple other annoyances I was having.
So will see how we going over the next month or so with it.
Next on the list is to deal with the Aliexpress SHARI clone I have, just need to do backup on old install to add to the new microSDHC I have #hamvoip installed on.

Finally got off my arse and added #DMR2YSF to my #Pi-Star #hotspot, and it seems to working not to bad.
Seem traffic locally on the hotspot will go from dmr2ysf to dmr on the #Pride #Radio #Network but I can't hear anything going the opposite way 😿
Anyways it been fun, it kept me off the streets and out the pub 😹
At some stage I really should do up another SDCard and checkout #W0CHP #PiStar #Dash

I don't think you can add reflectors to a Zone on the Anytone. Zones are for storing channels by their frequencies. Reflectors through a hotspot are effectively treated the same as Talkgroups. So if you wanted to connect to HUBnet (YSF 57727), you'd dial up TG 7057727 and your Pistar would know to connect via YSF, not DMR.
At least, that's my understanding of it. To be fair, I've only being using #DMR2YSF for a couple of weeks.
I think I'll set up my #AllStar node again. I think I still have a modified CM108 sound fob lying around somewhere for it.....
Interesting listening to @W8HF and @N2DYI on #Fedihams at the moment, via a #DMR2YSF feed from my #PiStar hotspot on a DMR radio at my end.

Have just got my second "mobile" #PiStar hotspot set up for #DMRGateway with #DMR2YSF and 2 DMR networks (Brandmeister, TGIF).
This will travel with me when I'm out and about working, using a 4G MiFi router.
My home Hotspot now also runs #DMRGateway and #DMR2YSF and has 3 DMR networks (Brandmeister, TGIF and Phoenix).
Should I make it easy on myself and keep them on the same 70cm frequency, or make the
codeplug difficult by having everything duplicated for two different frequencies?
Now that I've got my #PiStar hotspot's #DMRGateway config working with #DMR2YSF I guess I should add a new zone to my Anytone 678 containing all the interesting YSF reflectors I might want to dial into, in addition to #Fedihams?
I know nothing at all about YSF or fusion and how the #DMR2YSF functionality works, so it'll be (yet another) steep learning curve!
The #HamRadio hobby is a never ending box of delights, even after 40 years!

@m7tlb Hi Dave. I already had #DMRGateway working with 3 DMR networks - Brandmeister, Phoenix and TGIF... I've dropped Phoenix (for now) but added #DMR2YSF and can connect to different YSF reflectors.
I had a QSO with @W8HF on Fedihams, via YSF at my end and it worked ok. I also dialled up the YSF reflector for Hubnet, then back to Fedihams, and it all seemed to go smoothly.
Time for bed now, though 🥱
@gm4slv
Exactly this. Part of the reason I wanted to get #DMRGateway working on my #PiStar was to be able to use the #DMR2YSF gateway, and also have the option of including #FreeStar (and potentially others) as well.
I need to give #FediHams a try actually, so I've added TG 7073737 into my radio in preparation.

@m7tlb In for a penny....
I had to add the BM talkgroup to my radio, so might as well add #DMR2YSF to my #PiStar #DMRGateway config and then add a TG7073737 to the radio too.
I think it's working, I see my call on the YSFReflector dashboard!
Perhaps tomorrow I might have a go at finding someone to talk to!?
Spent this evening factory resetting my #PiStar as #DMRGateway just wasn't maintaining a connection for more than 3 minutes. It's all ginger peachy now though, thankfully.
I've now decided that I prefer #YSF over #DMR, which is ironic considering I don't possess a YSF rig, only DMR. Still, thanks to DMRGateway and #DMR2YSF, I now have a choice.
I love this hobby!

Nice QSO with Phil @k9fh just now on #fedihams . We were both in via #YSF , reflector “DE Fediverse” 73737 - on my side via the #dmr2ysf gateway on my Pi-Star hotspot.
The call sign mnemonic is "canine firehouse".
Phil reports seeing traffic on the #TGIF #DMR side as well.
Now off to my bicycle ride! Gotta get out before sunset, hoping to operate #BicycleMobile in some form.
