371 followers · 2160 posts · Server dice.campI've really come to appreciate using the "reaction roll-like" 2D6 approach for inspiration when the players go so far off the ranch, that I have no immediate ideas on what to do.
A simple 2D6 roll tells me if things are going to be easy/normal/difficult for the players. Or that roll tells me if I should do something that is really likely/somewhat likely/unlikely.
I find, for me, it works better than a random table because I can make this flow with what's going on at the table.
