personally i don't think lining up lock-step behind the #Biden admin is the way we stop the #GOP from taking power, they clearly don't know what the fuck they're doing, and they frankly don't give a shit about vulnerable people. Let's please stop pretending.

The way to make the #Democrats election proof is for them to embrace a populist progressive agenda, since the #DNC is currently run by multimillionaire insider traders they will fight tooth and nail to prevent this from happening, but that's the only hope, the grassroots progressive base are going to have to expel the millionaire leadership and promote populist candidates and policies.

Personally I've of the opinion Biden needs to be forced to step down, the primaries need to be opened up, and Sanders or some other progressive needs to win the nomination - if you don't want fascism to win in 24 that's the most likely bet - It could be Biden can be made to move left, I doubt that, but that's not going to happen without massive internal upheaval.

The DSA isn’t technically in favor of these things, but it’s also not against them.

In terms of fascism, they’re not paying it any attention because they’re too busy fighting what they consider to be their real enemy: liberalism.

As they see it, liberalism stands in the way of control of the DNC, and that control is a practical requirement for the revolution. In contrast, RNC victory is consistent with accelerationism: “After Trump, our turn.”

1. The DSA is explicitly hostile to liberalism and opposed the only candidate who could have stopped Trump. They chose ideological purity over antifascism.
2. The DSA and JD orgs are united. There are other associated orgs, including CPUSA and PCCC, but these two overlap strongly.

Philadelphia, 2016. Outside the Dunkin Donuts across the street from City Hall, very late one of those oppressively muggy nights. Attendees of the Democratic National Convention emerged from the subway station, hungry and tired.

Among a cluster of Hillary delegates-- you can tell from a block away, they're the ones dressed for a fancy cocktail party-- a man wearing a nice gray suit with a shiny pink tie and a convention lanyard sighed in tipsy happiness and said to me, "I don't know how anybody could have seen Obama's speech tonight and not feel inspired!"

Oh boy. Here we go. "Well, he's broken a lot of promises, and a lot of us just don't trust him anymore." I answered carefully.

"How could that be, what has Obama ever done wrong?"

"He supports the TPP, for one thing."

Laughing, he scoffed: "Who wants those jobs, anyway?" 

"I do." I held his eyes calmly. Unsmiling.

With absolutely no sign of awareness of the fact he'd just given a very casual finger to a huge swath of proud American labor, he rationally explained to me that the poor are only poor because they buy too many TVs. I told him slowly, "....That's class prejudice, right there. What you just said."

"Yes." he confirmed cheerfully, without hesitation.

I just stood there for several seconds staring at him with my mouth open. Stunned.

I remember telling him, "Obama dropped more bombs than the Bushes ever dreamed."

And that's when he lost his shit. He sputtered as if I'd slapped him, raised and pointed an accusing finger at me like this just turned into Invasion of the Bodysnatchers, and began screaming at me: "SHAME ON YOU! SHAME ON YOU!"

Bewildered, I tried to ask, "...Why? For what? What did I do?" Seriously, what the actual fuck. 

"SHAME ON YOU! SHAME ON YOU!!"

"Really?" What I would give to know what on earth was going through his head then, but his eyes had gone glassy. Furious, shaking, and red-faced, all he could do was repeat himself, completely unhinged. I shook my head at him, gave up, and turned away to remove myself from the situation. His shouts followed me across the street. 

"SHAME ON YOU! ....AND THAT'S COMING FROM A MAN IN A TIE!!" was his idea of a triumphant parting shot. 

That's the DNC in a nutshell, for me: smug, rotten aristocrats totally convinced that they're not morally bankrupt.

Weird to think had Andrew Gillum gotten a few thousand more votes, #Florida would have one of the most progressive governments in the country.

And the #DNC in their infinite political prowess instead of looking at the demographics of Florida and with the knowledge that #Obama won Florida Twice putting their money into mobilizing poor/working class/people of color, have ceded the state completely to the #GOP and barely even contested Desantis in 2022 - instead they ran a former GOP governor #CharlieCrist who already lost.

The #Democrats must have thought "we tried that #progressive thing, let's go with another moderate" this is why they lose constantly. Its almost like they dont care about winning and are more interested in fucking over progressives.

Don't cut Social Security for people under 50. Raise the Social Security tax cap instead. It's absurd that Jeff Bezos and I pay the same Social Security tax.

Anderson Cooper doesn't want to challenge Carville on his misconceptions and I am always so absolutely disgusted whenever Carville speaks because he's always the one to fight against the left in order to disenfranchise us or shame us for not supporting economically conservative jerks who even allowed the overturning of Roe v Wade under their leadership. The DNC has clearly shown that it's promoted candidates who only discuss the fear from the GOP. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the perpetual fight or flight mode caused by moderate Republicans running under the Democratic ticketband being forced down our throats.

I also wholeheartedly believe that many people who voted for Hillary during the primaries in 2016 cared less about policies and more about her identity as a woman whom ironically supports the patriarchal system we have. And to my knowledge she has never once apologized to the #lgbtqia community for supporting DOMA (which was thankfully reversed under Obama's presidency).

I might even go so far as to call James Carville a #racist for supporting systemic racism as well as this
