#RPGADay2023 27) Game you'd like a new EDITION of...
New editions are often a double-edged sword, not always succeeding in satisfying both existing fans and new ones. (i.E. #DnD4, #SR6)
I would like to see diversity promoted and more English translations of international titles. (i.E. #Symbaroum, #INS/#MV, #Blutlust)
Accordingly, I would be happy to see the following translations:
#Cops
#Bloodlust
#InNomineSatanis / #MagnaVeritas
#Symbaroum with sensibly revised rules would also be great.
#rpgaday2023 #dnd4 #sr6 #symbaroum #ins #blutlust #cops #bloodlust #InNomineSatanis #magnaveritas
#RPGADAy 24) COMPLEX / SIMPLE RPG you play
Basically, I play every game once, or at least I try to.
I come from #TunnelsandTrolls whose creator was not fully convinced by #DnD, so he developed something more rules-light & narrative. #FightingFantasy is also quite simple. On the other hand, we had a lot of fun with #Rolemaster / #Spacemaster & #Cyberpunk2020. #DnD4 plays almost intuitively in contrast to #DND5. Experience shows that complex systems lead to "boring" rules research/discussions.

Let's Read Threats to Nentir Vale!
The book's entry for Clan Bloodspear contains a few unfortunate cliches in its text, but here I talk about possible alternate ways to view them and include them in your Nentir Vale game.
They can end up looking a lot like early Rome, if you change just a bit.

Let's Read Threats to the Nentir Vale!
Calastryx is our second custom dragon in this book. A three-headed catastrophe slumbering in her mountain lair, waiting for the prophesized time of her awakening.

Let's Read Threats to the Nentir Vale!
Cadaver Collectors first appeared in third edition. This entry brings them to the fourth and adds a couple of hooks that tie them to the Nentir Vale setting.

Let's Read Threats to the Nentir Vale!
After the somewhat uninspired Bloodfire Ooze, we move on to the Boggle, an awesome little fey gribbly who likes thinking with portals:

Let's Read Threats to the Nentir Vale!
Our next entry is the Boggle, the common fey ancestor of the Goblin and Banderhob. A tiny terror that thinks with portals.

Let's Read Threats to the Nentir Vale!
Our next entry talks about the Blackfang Gnolls. Personally, I'm not enthusiastic about Yet More Gnolls, but these are a nice update to the Thunderspire Labyrinth opponents.

I've fallen behind with posting Let's Read links here, but I'll eventually catch up.
So here's the next entry in Let's Read Threats to the Nentir Vale! Bitterstrike, the dragon who's a legendary queen in her own mind and a useful idiot in the minds of her vassals:

I started my Let's Read of Monster Vault: Threats to the Nentir Vale!
Here's the introductory post: https://bira.github.io/octopus-carnival/2022/11/25/wir-tnv-intro.html
There is also the Weavers, which have existed for a while but got turned into a very interesting epic threat in 4e: https://bira.github.io/octopus-carnival/2022/11/17/weaver.html
I've posted a few more Let's Read the Monster Manual 3 entries in Octopus Carnival.
I'm particularly proud of the puns I managed to work into the post about the Verbeeg: https://bira.github.io/octopus-carnival/2022/11/11/verbeeg.html
Figuring out my paper office mess, throwback to when I saw that image of a skull and my mind went to #dnd4 #4e immediately and made up the Arachnimated Skeleton, essentially inventing an entire sub-school of Necromancy with it. Good times were had.
