Lovely. #ATT has apparently switched off the email address they advertise in SMTP rejections for #DNSBL removals: it bounces from an internal system there. No clue why we’re being shunned, no way to ask. Nice work, Ma Bell…

#ProTip: When standing up a new service online that you hope will draw a lot of indirect users, make sure to use a DNS name that you can afford to burn forever. Because the people that set up to use it will not all notice when it stops working.

This is a lesson learned in the #spam fight by #DNSBL operators. A few in the batch that sprung up soon after MAPS spread the concept used a 2nd-level name. They regretted it. Some #Fediverse admins seem to be sharing this experience

#opnsense installed and so far so good. Obviously similar to pfsense but like the clean feel and most of the capabilities seem to be there out the box apart from a few report's. Which I'll live without.

@Lockdownyourlife centralized anything for #mastodon is kind of counter to the point of a decentralized system.. however, I'm thinking about framing a system/service that would sort of work like #DNSBL or #spamhaus minimally for server owners to create an optional centralized blacklist that they could pull from. Thoughts? Would this be a useful system or does something already exist?
