It was cited as recently as a 2005 Supreme Court decision involving the Oneida Indian Nation written by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg."

For #WaitangiDay I didn't go to any celebrations but I did re-read an article about the #DoctrineOfDiscovery. It was used from 15th and 16th century onwards to justify taking land from indigenous people. It also forms the basis for corporate property laws still used now.
