Today on TikTok I saw a woman posting her delirious happiness that she'd persuaded her Bernese Mountain Dog to tow a little plastic toddler wagon with her three kids in it on their walks. She was like "I'm a freakin' genius" and her happiness was genuinely contagious, but it honestly felt as if she didn't know she's not actually the person who invented #dog mushing or dog carts. #SledDog #DogMushing
True story: I couldn’t care less about the Super Bowl. Back in the 1990s when I ran dogs, this was my favorite day of the winter because the sled trails would be almost empty (usually many teams out on Sundays). One #SuperBowl Sunday I out for a long run and was stopped on the trail. Another team came along and stopped. It was a well known European musher training in Interior #Alaska and he said something to the effect of “I though the Super Bowl was a religion for you Americans” 🤣 #DogMushing

At just 19 years old, Raymond Alexie of Kwethluk cruised to a first place finish in the Kuskokwim 300 Season Opener to start the Delta Championship Series on a strong tone. He bested 2019 Iditarod Champion Pete Kaiser of Bethel by a whopping14minutes. Bethel, Alaska Dec. 17, 2022. (Photo by Mary Cait Dolan / KYUK) #Alaska #DogMushing
Also, as someone who will often have their dog off leash in the backcountry. It was news to me that one of the largest dangers to a dog team are off leash dogs. Never too late to learn something new and try to be a good neighbor. #alaska #Trails #dogmushing
