A friend of mine is interested in re homing a small dog to live with him in his flat in Newcastle NSW. He’s in his late sixties on a pension and has some health issues. It seems that nearly all dogs up for adoption seem to be staffies, staffie/ cross types probably needing more exercise than he can manage. Do people agree that the fashion of having Staffies as pets has seen them make up the bulk of unwanted dogs, maybe indicating that many people find them unsuitable house pets? Where are the smaller mongrel dogs I seem to remember?
