I'm trying to attach a #DFRobot #Gravity accessory to a #RaspberryPi2040 through #StemmaQT (with the #Adafruit #JSTPH to #JSTSH adapter cable). When I connect it, the #Pi shuts off. I also have problems with the same cable and a StemmaQT accessory if I try to run it off a #Firebeetle #ESP32. I feel like I'm #DoingItWrong.

@tiffanycli indeed, but there are still some unnecessary technical obstacles for #newbies - and I'm talking about the #fediverse as a whole. Mastodon is pretty good. But I am currently still primarily a #facebook user. I knew #birdsite well enough to find using #mastodon intuitive. But I am finding it impossible to translate my FB experience into something comparable in the fediverse. I tried #friendica but cannot find anything comparable to a FB "group". #doingitwrong

It sounds similar to using key pairs to ssh in to PC.

Certainly, usability is likely better. But, do we really want our face to unlock our phone AND all our logins? That seems double plus ungood.

On #SecurityNow recently, they talked about sites using a 3rd party to add #passkey logins. Turns out, the 3rd party was #DoingItWrong (TM) and phishing of some sort was possible. (Though, tbf they were doing it wrong!)

Thanks for explaining. I've been unsure about #passkeys for a while.

UPDATE: everything looks great except that my nginx config has something wrong with it and the fun part of that is that we have a custom-compiled nginx build (for file-upload module) that has to run every time we re-build and it takes a....long....time.

nginx config troubleshooting is, therefore, the most suspenseful troubleshooting.

I will never finish my game of #Skyrim. I will just pootle around forever doing side quests.
I did get the anniversary bits though. Just to keep myself stocked up on side quests FOREVER.

I started this save in 2018. I still havent picked #Imperial or #Nord
