It is a quarter to nine and it is still light outside, and soon, so soon, it will be summer, all over again.
And I say to my self, as I always do, this year I shall not waste it, I shall go and have myself the grandest of all adventures.
But betwixt the saying, and the doing is a great ocean of lethargy, and perhaps even fear.

Two full days left before I head home with my pups. I’m more than half done cleaning the boat and oiling the teak. (Freshly oiled teak looks amazing.) Other chores today: take the pups to a vet for their health certificates (required for airline travel), meet with Volvo mechanic for maintenance and inspection items, pack and ship last of jewelry-making stuff, and (hopefully) get electronics guy to install Garmin Blackbox 800 AIS transceiver. #boating #DoItNow

I’m docked at the last marina I’ll visit before I go home for four months. Quiet place at a boatyard. Great next door neighbor. But jeez! No protection from the wind coming from the south. The bouncing woke me at 4 AM. I’ll need to secure the boat better for the storm coming this afternoon. Tying up on a fixed dock in tidal waters is something I need a lot more practice doing. #boating #DoItNow

Tomorrow is the day I leave Oriental, NC. I've been here since March 30 and finished my business early on April 8. Unfortunately, weather came in and has kept me here. But I'm leaving tomorrow, rain, wind, or worse. This is the longest I've been on the boat in any one place and I'm ready to move on.

Next stop: Bellhaven, NC.

This morning's travel planning challenge: find a marina along tomorrow's route that's open on Sunday with has diesel fuel for less than $5/gallon and a pumpout at the fuel dock and doesn't charge a "convenience fee" for the use of a credit card.
