The last time the federal minimum wage was raised (from $6.75/hr. to $7.25/hr.) was in 2009. I am not sure exactly but I think that wer'e all getting $.63 (at most!) / dollar in value since then AND the cost of living has increased by (at least!) 30++% (or more) since 2009.
