Revered on and off Broadway in the 1980s, she was unforgettable in two Stephen King adaptations of the 90s: as James Caan's psychotic number one fan / nurse in Rob Reiner's #Misery (1990) and pictured here as the embittered, persecuted #DoloresClaiborne in Taylor Hackford's powerful 1995 film of the same name.
