This evening's viewing: a right Euro-pudding of a 1970s flick, The Devil's Men (aka Land of the Minotaur). Even Peter Cushing and Donald Pleasance (with comedy Irish priest accent) cannot rescue it...

60% of film is zoom on character's eyes, in belief this is somehow mesmeric, and 15% women shrieking while clutching their heads.

This evening's viewing: very peculiar oddity from 1974, The Mutations, directed by legendary cinematographer Jack Cardiff, with pre-Doctor Who Tom Baker (swathed in prosthetics) & Donald Pleasance, partly inspired by Browning's infamous 30s flick Freaks.

Donald Pleasance is having an absolute ball in this one, as he should! This is a fun one!
A cannibal, descending from trapped tunnel workers from the 1890’s, roams the London Underground for food!
Some odd bits here and there, but worth it for Pleasance.

A scientist experiments with crossing humans and plants, for which he uses his students.

A pre-Doctor Who Tom Baker, a post-Wild, Wild, West Micheal Dunn and Donald Pleasance too!
Not a bad flick, but the creepiness of the plot is let down by the final creature who would have looked right at home being fought by Baker’s Doctor.
