Here is a Welsh weekend wonder.....

What connects the second longest river in Europe and Cymraeg?

The flowes for 2,850 km. The river's name derives from Middle French Danube....

...which in turn comes from Old French Danube....

....which in turn comes from Latin Dānubius....

.... and ultimately from Proto-Celtic *Dānowyos.

Today the modern Welsh for the Danube is Donaw or Donwy.

Pretty cool, eh?
