I just (a couple nights back) watched it and found it to be an enjoyable, absurdly quirky romp…with more than a few laugh-out-loud moments….

I’ve only read a bit of Delillo, and this isn’t one of the few. I’ve put a hold on it at my library but it appears I’m late to the game on that maneuver (60th in line on a handful of copies), stay tuned…

La película más extraña del 2022 en #netflix por fin se estrenó el 2023 🤷🏻‍♂️ , por lo menos en este rincón ( #Latinoamerica ). Pero concentrémonos en lo bizarro de esta producción que con una estética de principio de los 80’s y un presupuesto publicitario equivalente a #projectoindependiente de la misma época, hace honor a su título durante las 2 horas que dura esta historia.
#whitenoise ( #RuidoDeFondo ) trata de una familia de los suburbios que navega los conflictos de la vida en una mundo psicodélico y extraño, dispara preguntas filosóficas a diestra y siniestra utilizando iconos de la cultura pop de otras décadas y personajes históricos, muestra críticas a la sociedad de una forma que no muchos podrán digerir y el diálogo a veces confundirá al espectador por no utilizar la pausa en la película para poner la “narrativa explicativa”. Pero evoca lo que creo que se perdió en los últimos años en la industria del cine, la intriga el no saber a donde puede llevarte una historia es lo que mas me atraía del lobby de un #cine al ver esas gigantes imágenes que mostraban próximos estrenos.
Basada en la octava novela de #dondelillo del mismo nombre y dirigida por #noahbaumbach ( #MarrigeStory ) y con #AdamDriver #GretaGerwig #doncheadle en el reparto es una película que hacía falta ver para limpiar el paladar.

#dondelillo has so many awards, and I think he deserves all of them. He makes you think!
He is not well rated on Audible but I think part of the problem is that his writing needs to be mulled over. A couple people said it should only be read in a university class. I can't believe I just found out about him because of Cosmopolis on Hulu.

The #WhiteNoise #film is garbage. Boring retro camp. I hope that people don't decide not to read the #DonDelillo novel based on how bad it is. Reminded me of the Kevin Bacon movie Tremors but much worse. Visually ugly. None of the ambiance of the novel. A sad waste of $100 million dollars.

#DavidCronenberg brilliantly captures #DonDeLillo ‘s take on the hideous amount of wealth accumulated by the Wall Street types before the crash. Packer's glass kingdom is done in, not by the global protest movement, but him questioning 'what's all this for?' He needs constant physical stimulation. Pattinson is perfect as a dead-eyed 28 yr old master of the universe & the rest of the cast, impeccable like everything else about the film. Cosmopolis is the driest black comedy in years. #adaptation

@Filoffen En fantastisk bog. Jeg læste den kort tid efter den var udgivet, mens jeg var udstationeret på UCI i Californien. Den og Underworld må være DeLillos hovedværker. Hans fiktion er noget af det skarpeste postmodernistiske kulturanalyse, man finder. Jeg har svært ved at forestille mig den filmatiseret, men det må jo komme an på en prøve. #dondelillo #whitenoice

I can't wait to watch the movie, but as the writer of this article, I'm a little scared (for similar reasons).

The article contains some spoilers about the book, but honestly, the plot is not the point of the novel and I doubt it's that important in the movie either.

Also, I've been wondering whether I should reread the book before or after watching the movie (well, I'm kinda running out of time for the "before" option, I need to hurry)
