I've been thinking about by and how insanely popular it is among young women who don't want to get day jobs. It seems like such an obvious formula for a story: get swept up with a bunch of glamorous, upper class types, get freed from your crappy middle class tedium, get blinded to the horrible things going on, have a dreadful realization, return to middle class tedium. It should have countless imitators, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Some folks consider to be , and there are lots of fans who would like to be students there.

I graduated from , which used as a model for the college in "The Secret History." I occasionally ask myself whether I would choose that experience again, if I had a chance. I've never come to a firm conclusion!

@eku Davon kenne ich nur , von dem ich tatsächlich einiges gelesen habe, sehr genial, auch den Drachenläufer. Ich mag , Hanns-Josef Ortheil, , , Michael Ende uvm. Von Deiner Musik mag ich Pink Floyd, A-ha + die Zauberflöte. 😊 Mir fällt es leider immer schwerer, neue Musik zu finden, die mich begeistert.
