However, after being threatened with jail time by State Bar prosecutors, DoNotPay chief executive #JoshuaBrowder postponed the case in January.”

Does this surprise me? No, having worked in software for Law (Ringtail), lawyers are/were notoriously techno-phobic.

Excellent Techdirt post by @kathryntewson following up on her previous article on Joshua Browder's #DoNotPay service.

Browder seems to be engaging in similar shenanigans to what Elon #Musk has been doing with #Twitter: responding to criticism by rewriting the rules to effectively make it a ToS violation to come up with reasons to criticize it.

These articles raise so many valid questions that, for now, I cannot recommend anyone go near DoNotPay with any legal matter.

Ранее Чёрный треугольник писал, как стартап DoNotPay разработал чат-бота для решения юридических вопросов. Генеральный директор стартапа Джошуа Браудер предложил использовать бота на судебном заседании по делу о нарушении правил ПДД.

Предполагалось, что бот будет говорить через реального человека, которому была объявлена премия в миллион долларов.

Теперь несколько дней спустя Браудер объявил, что участие #DoNotPay в заседании откладывается из-за реакции людей-адвокатов.

Государственные коллегии адвокатов из нескольких штатов, опасаясь быть замененными машинами, прислали стартапу DoNotPay письма с угрозами судебного преследования за юридическую практику бота без соответствующей лицензии.

Джошуа Браудер надеется, что ИИ когда-нибудь всё же сможет помочь людям в зале суда.
