@edv_nachrichten Wie wäre es mit den - ?

Oder konsequentes Verbot aller Cookies außer für ??

Weil das wären die einzigen "technisch erforderlichen" !

@paulos @SwiftOnSecurity well, they do as they don't allow me to "Deny All Cookies" with a single click!

In fact, I should not have to click anything due to using a and denying all 3rd party cookies...

@SwiftOnSecurity Yeah,

The sheer fact that "" isn't mandatory not that instead the default ain't "deny all" isn't the legal default.

@netzpolitik_feed Hauptprobleme die ich sehe:

- wird [ Warum ist das überhaupt zulässig? ]

- Kein effektives & einfaches "Alle Cookies & Tracking ablehnen!" [z.B. "] vorgeschrieben.

Apple and Google lead initiative for an industry specification to address unwanted tracking
nr.apple.com/DH9l4U0qA4
Location-tracking devices help users find personal items like their keys, purse, luggage, and more through crowdsourced finding networks. However, they can also be misused for unwanted tracking of individuals.
Today Apple and Google jointly submitted a proposed industry specification to help combat the misuse of Bluetooth location-tracking devices for unwanted tracking.

I think this is a great move for personal safety and privacy, and a step in the right direction for interoperability.

I wonder if, though it may be no more than a gesture in the short term, there might be a place for a DoNotTrain header for websites.  The history of isn’t encouraging, but still.  I doubt I’d be able to keep up with names to put them in robots.txt, which would be the other alternative, though some sort of script to insert a register of them might help.  As things stand, most things I do are licensed, but I see no sign of an respecting the conditions.

@Quentin @jcsteh Yeah I wish the law makers should have forced websites to respect "Do Not Track" signal that and other browsers implemented instead of these annoying popups everywhere which did nothing but cause more annoyances to most users ☹️

Sooner or later, courts will decide browser requests are legally binding.

@funficient @drewharwell The technical part isn't the problem. It's trivial.

The header has existed for a long time, but it's completely ignored & actually used as another point of data for tracking by malicious actors.

The problem is meaningful legal enforcement of non-consent to tracking.

@digitalcourage

It seems there is a new standard, Global Control (GPC), to do just this.

"Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a proposed specification designed to allow Internet users to notify businesses of their privacy preferences, such as whether or not they want their personal information to be sold or shared. It consists of a setting or extension in the user’s browser or mobile device and acts as a mechanism that websites can use to indicate they support the specification."

My bank's website has cookie preference dialogs even in the authenticated part of the website. What absolute nonsense. Makes you wonder what kind o cookies, trackers, etc. they are using there.

We should bring back with a single purpose: get websites not to show cookies preference dialogs. is good, but what a bane it has cast upon everyone.
