@matthew_d_green I’d throw in the Wi-Fi vs Cellular alert in @overcastfm — it makes me think, every time.
It shouldn’t be about allowing cellular, that’s not the desired outcome. In this situation, the user either wants to download immediately or later when on Wi-Fi.
A better alert would be:
Title:
Download “[EpisodeTitle]” Using Cellular Data?
Infotext:
The download size is [EpisodeSize] MB. Using data over a cellular network may incur additional fees.
Buttons:
Later on Wi-Fi (secondary)
Download (primary)
The text replacement form on iOS always gets me. It feels natural to enter the shortcut first, followed by the outcome. Why? Because it matches their order in actual use. Apple describes the functionality in the same order, too.
I saved a new one today and wanted to give it a try. I wrote ‘masto’ but nothing happened. I thought the replacement failed so I wrote ‘Mastodon’ out. It got replaced by ‘masto’ and I immediately realised I had entered them in the wrong order again. #dontmakemethink

Background: I want my digital calendar to act like a paper datebook. If I'm planning lunch with a friend next month, I want to write down our agreed time, see the time as we discussed it, and not have to think about what time zone I'll be in then, or do math to interpret/confirm the time as I reference it from different time zones. #dontmakemethink
since when is creating an account not creating an account?
—since signing on on @Octodon does not mean you can sign in at @mastodon to check if that has an actually usable UI #dontmakemethink
