I've decided to stop buying into #climate #doomism, after many years of not being able to avoid feeling and spreading it.

Instead, I've been reading up on individual efforts, and it's amazing what individuals and their communities can accomplish. I want to do what they're doing.

I'm determined to participate in local #remediation/#re-wilding projects.

Will also expand the container garden on my decks to include plants that attract #pollinators.

Regrettably too, the grifters on the left side of the aisle have found that they can make more money by spreading #doomism than they can spreading #ClimateSolutions and #ClimateProgress

Our new abnormal climate sucks!

So good to hear someone say on air that it's not too late to start taking #ClimateAction to keep the worst impacts possible from happening.

I'd like for more people to not say that the Inflation Reduction Act is going to to do it by itself, which Dr. Mann did pretty well.

We just need everyone to stop burning fossil fuels as fast as each possibly can.

We are now at 400ppm CO2 & other GHGs .
Ice cores show us that the last time earths atmosphere was 400ppm the global temperature was 3-4°C.

The earth is in catch up. 1.5°C was never a reality it was part of campaign to discredit scientists who said we would go beyond the Paris agreement in our lifetime. This campaign was led by Proff Michael E Mann, a climate scientist. Proff Mann, using no scientific data hypothesised that #Doomism = Inaction and this is the mantra of many #ClimateOptimists.

Here's why #climate #doomism is an issue if we want to see a systemic change towards a safe planet for 8 million species.

Doomism is poorly defined but scientific definitions don't include simply talking about how terrible things are getting based on scientific evidence.

Rather, it's where people suggest there is no longer any point in change, as all hope is lost.

In doing so, they let self, others, governments, and corporates off the hook.
