Functional, but beautifully tiled, arched doorway in the old Partick Fire Station on Beith Street, Glasgow.
I love the fact that this feature was kept, unaltered, when this building was turned into residential flats.

Entrance to one of the terraced villas on Lancaster Terrace in the west end of Glasgow. Built around 1875, their design has clearly been influences by Alexander 'Greek' Thomson's nearby Westbourne Terrace (built a few years earlier).
I love the caryatids on either side of the door, as well as all that stained glass. The latern's oretty good, too.

The impressive vaulted entrance to the old Lansdowne Parish Church on Great Western Road in Glasgow. Built in 1863, it was designed by John Honeyman, with sculptures by John Mossman.
Honeyman would later go on to form the firm Honeyman and Keppie, where a young Charles Rennie MacKintosh began his architectural career as a draughtsman in 1889.

Being a city famous for its architecture, Glasgow has some amazing doorways. This one (the entrance to St Silus' Church in Wooodlands) is one of my favourites in the west end of the city.
I love the way the recessed blonde sandstone gothic arch, supported by nook shafts on either side, encloses the bright red door, which is, in turn, offset by the ornate black hinges. A simple but stunning piece of architecture!
