Ik heb sowieso moeite met de opvatting dat mensen hun #onschuld moet bewijzen. Er is nog een grijs gebied met #sancties binnen een bedrijfstak, zoals #wielrennen / #sport. En ik begrijp het probleem met #doping. Maar om in het kader van een mogelijke strafrechtelijke #vervolging te eisen dat je je #onschuld moet bewijzen gaat mij meer dan een brug te ver.

"Het vooronderzoek richt zich uitsluitend op de genoemde persoon (Michel Hessmann, red.) en niet op anderen", stelt het Duitse OM. "Of dit tot een strafvervolging zal leiden, is nu nog open en hangt af van de onderzoeksresultaten. De verdachte zal gehoord worden voordat een finaal oordeel volgt. Het is aan hem om zijn onschuld aan te tonen."

The UCI and the testing framework has failed.
Need an inquiry with a general amnesty. Can't demonize and punish the riders and think you'll fix it. It's the upper management, in teams, administration and the media People like Phil Liggett who cheer this on. Re think the whole business model and incentive structures.

Really hope I'm completely wrong about this, but this feels horribly familiar.

@bodomenke Das Thema "#Doping" bei der #TdF2023 wird imho kaum recherchierend angegangen. Wenn erwähnt, dann eher pflichtschuldig am Rande. Heute beim Zeitfahren müssen sie das Hammerzeugs gehabt haben, oder wie ist das Ergebnis sonst zu erklären?

I can't watch the #TourDeFrance without thinking about #doping, #Vingegaard and #Pogacar both said they understand the skepticism but I don't think they understand how much it undermines the sport. Today's TT isn't going to make it easier to believe. 5% faster than 2nd and 10% better than 3rd is a crazy gap at this level. Hope it's real, fear it's not.

What the f, #Jumbo-Visma. I thought #Pogacar was one of the most shamelessly doped up riders I have ever seen, but you managed to make him look like an innocent school boy. It is sickening to see pro #cycling get away with this. There was a time when I defended this sport because at least it was doing much more to fight #doping than others, but now? I'm not expecting everyone to be clean, but this is insulting (and frightening for the riders' health), #Tdf2023
