That can't be good, can it? I can only imagine how much pressure is concentrated in that one spot. That pressure should have been spread across the entire rectangular area of the bridge's foot. (I might lack the vocabulary here. What do you call that?)
I loosened the strings enough so that I could move the bottom of the bridge, and managed to get the full area of the bridge foot come into contact with the bass body. This is definitely the most audacious thing I've ever done to a #doublebass.
