I set up a mail server with #iRedMail, everything works perfectly, except that this morning, I saw it in my mailbox of the server I set up.

Ok both #android phones in the house won't update email from my #dovecot server and I can find literally no errors in the logs anywhere about it. They just both stopped two days ago! They still auth correctly!

Dovecot documentation says entering [::] for the listen address will enable both ipv6 and ipv4, but that is a LIE! It will enable ipv6 only. On the forums 13 YEARS AGO someone says use *,[::] and that works!

Just set up #dovecot and #postfix to migrate away from the curse of #zimbra. Even took the time to set up #ldap and #pam for it. How convoluted. I can see now why things like #exchange and #zimbra are so awful.

So I did it. I set up #postfix + #dovecot + #mariadb, removed my ip address from spamhaus, and finally have a #selfhosted mail. You may think hah, what a dumb creature, he will regret that, but I hurry to say, this mail is only used by me for my cloud notifications-like stuff and for fun, nothing important, since already I see how hard it would be to achieve the feeling of proffesional mail with filters, and probably few other fancy things.

A quick check confirms that http://cr.yp.to/qmail.html is still there and has been all along.

It turns out that the Dovecot doco writers didn't know where #qmail originated, and thought that http://qmail.org was its original WWW site. But a quick check reveals that even that is still there, too.

You have a self-hosted #mail-server and your mail client bugs you with #missing-certificates and no access to remote folders (Sent, Draft etc.), although all certificates are valid? Check the logs and if #dovecot says "alert certificate expired" maybe "service dovecot reload" helps, so that the #IMAP server also uses the new certificates...
