In the summer of 1952, Collier's published an article, "A is for Atom, B is for Bomb," showing schoolchildren doing a "Duck & Cover" drill outside of their school. This school was in Mercury, NV, and you can see the mushroom cloud of an actual #nuclear weapon test above the school roof. This was the school closest to the Nevada Test Site, and during tests the students would come outside and practice Duck & Cover as the nuclear detonation took place.

In later years #downwinders would nickname the article:

"A is for Atom, B is for Bomb, C is for Cancer"
