well I've spent all my retro computing pennies this month, and since I'm not gonna buy them, perhaps someone out there might want it. theres a nice looking #dragon32 for sale. it is all the way up in aberdeenshire though. bit of a trek, but a bargain.

dragon 32, 2 official dragon joysticks, cosmic invader cartridge , couple of books and couple of game cassetes. all for the bargain price of £40. all untested though.

just search for dragon 32 in scotland and u should see it.

40 years ago a new software company started advertising in UK computer magazines.

Despite their name, Spectrum Games released games for the #ZX81 and #Vic20 as well as the #ZXSpectrum. They also promised that games for the #Oric and #Dragon32 would be coming soon.

The name of the company caused confusion in the marketplace, so they quickly rebranded as Ocean Software.

They would later become one of the largest European video game companies.

It’s amazing that the #Dragon32 wasn’t more of a success.

The old ads are especially nostalgia-inducing for those of us old enough to recall that first wave of home computers, who bashed away in BASIC and loaded and saved to audio cassette with our 16k RAM, or perhaps a muscular 48k or even 64k!

Oric Atmos, Dragon 32, BBC Model B, Vic-20, even the enormous "portable" version of the Commodore 64!

I've been a #pcgamer since the days of "640KB is enough for anyone." Prior to that I had used a #Dragon32 (Cuthbert for ever!)
TV based console-wise I've only had two - #Dreamcast and #Wii. Handhelds have hardly been more present, a #GP2X device - my first introduction to handheld emulation devices (I have almost all the commerical titles too), then a #PSP, and lastly a #SteamDeck which neatly coalesces all three groups of device (PC, Handheld and TV console.)
