This will take a little recovery, however. But then back into the salt mines of writing #ttRPG content.

Fun triple-entendre:
• Stanley Kubrick directed “The Shining.”
• The story was inspired by King’s 1974 visit to the #StanleyHotel in #EstesPark, Colorado.
• And #MrsRoper’s long-suffering husband… was named Stanley.

It's Wednesday morning after #DragonCon2023 and #PAXWest2023 and I'm seeing tweets about people trying positive for COVID after both events. Please test and take care of yourself.

After co-presenter Tony Gowell invited a hundred #kaftan-bedecked #MrsRoper cosplayers to storm the #DragonCon2023 #Masquerade stage, the ladies confused #millennials and #GenwrationZ alike as they strutted through the #Atlanta #Hyatt and #Marriott to their appointed #PhotoShoot outside the #Hilton.

#GinAndTonic from the #RegalBeagle was consumed and a sea of red wigs assembled on the steps.

Then things got weird.

#DragonCon2023 fun with friends cosplaying #TheLockedTomb ! The cow costume combined with my God costume horrified fans of the books and it was amazing.

Big numbers from the #DragonCon2023 closing: 70k attendees. Sold out all but 1 day.

I was curious, bc my experience this year was that this year, most times & places, the crowds were Just Right.

Overwhelming, & long lines for many things, sure, but nothing had the "this is a scary crush" feel I got in 2019.

Plus if there was mask snark, it was minor. I even got compliments on the galaxy fabric one I wear over my N95.

So. In summation, 10/10 would like to return on a pro badge.

I genuinely love how many guys I've seen at #DragonCon2023 costumed as female characters: Barbie, Sailor Scouts, Rey, Sandman's Death, Maleficent, Disney princesses, Star Trek women's uniforms, and more.

Okay, so the Boinking Beasties panel was totally worth the wait outside, esp since I met new friends and got to brainstorm possible slash fanfic between one of their book characters and one of mine.
Time well spent!
