This is the first time I've ever reached a genuine end of an act, and let me tell you: it feels so good.

It's a long process ahead, especially when it comes to editing but I'm getting there!

I just started reading Goffman in earnest and I can already confidently say I'm ruined for dinner parties for the rest of my life.

"Further, there is usually a kind of
division of definitional labour. ...Together the participants contribute to a single overall definition of the situation which involves not so much a real agreement as to what exists but rather a real agreement as to whose claims concerning what issues will be temporarily honoured."

This is a note I took from Dani Snyder-Young's "We're All in This Together..." paper in Theatre Journal. I find it really interesting.

I think we can relate this back to and because theatre practicioners can write a "we" into shows, and yet that "we" does not encompass everyone, nor every experience. This causes those that fall outside of the "we" to be misunderstood, or to be seen as black-and-white thinkers. Thus communication between groups is lost.

A throwback to when I presented my done for my university's production of "Uncle Vanya" at KCACTF in 2019. I worked really hard on this show and it felt good to have it nominated for an LMDA Student Dramaturg award.

" is many things. It is the design of information, it [is] also the academic side of the . Its core purpose is and clarity. Making sure your knows what you want to say, and making sure your performers can say it with confidence." --Emma Bilderback, as per her website (Without the hashtags, of course): emmabilderback.com. This quotation means a lot, especially for someone like me who is looking to go to graduate school for dramaturgy.

@DomYeates What wondeful technical design. These sorts of performances are exactly the kind that develop the craft further and seek to expand the nature of what we call "." I wonder what the of this show looks like. Must be exciting!

Did a consult for an early-career looking to go to school to study the craft.

Something I tried to hone in on was the removal of within his text. It got me thinking about how often I let my own characters speak what they're thinking. Perhaps it's better to write your characters with their subtext and then to cut it out?

As my first script consult, I only ask myself: am I doing all of this wrong?
