#WritingWonders 3: Share art, pics, and/or mood boards of your WIP world.

Though these were mostly created for things that are already out (if you played my #DreamsPS4 game "WHITE LIGHT", you'll know), they're vitally important to the WIP I'm highlighting this month.

Sketches & storyboards were all originally 2-inch (or less) thumbnails.

1. Bully For You cover ideas (Front & Back)
2. Key Scene storyboards (Greenwich, 1990)
3. Reggie (Greenwich, 1990; Concept)
4. Roxy (Owego, 1970; Concept)

There were a lot of hiccups along the way, & lots of iteration, but I'll forever be proud of the final product and what it taught me about #gamedev. It's an hours-long story, which is quite a bit more involved than a lot of what has been #MadeInDreams, but if that isn't a deterrent, I hope that you'll give it a try, if you have #DreamsPS4.

A year ago today--following 3 years of mostly solo dev time--I released my first game; The cinematic novel "WHITE LIGHT", which was 100% #MadeInDreams! I picked up a lot of new skills making it (like sculpting & animation), and I'm thankful to #MediaMolecule for giving me the tools to try my hand at long-form interactive visual entertainment. I've been building and rigging the eye, arm and hand poses over the last week.

Trying to work with the animation system is still a bit unwieldy because I'm so used to Maya/Blender animation workflow, but I'm getting a bit better at understanding it.

I've also discovered that all my frustrations with Dreams VR come from the bugs with using Dreams on the PS5 and the camera adaptor, it's rock solid on PS4.

worked on rigging up the eyes today, nothing fancy, and added a side expression to enhance the 'look to the side' pose at the start.

The animation at the moment is purely to test the rig as I'm slowly adding to it. I can see I need some more arm poses to give them a little more flexibility.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to move between keyframes with the move controllers while editing keys, a simple thing on the standard controller....
