I loved the Urban Dredd a lot but the Stallone Dredd is what introduced me to the story of Judge Dredd.

I don't know if #dredd is our future, or a training manual. As fiction, it was enjoyable for many years of my life. #2020 put an end to that for me, revealing so much police brutality that so much of the population was already aware of. #copcity reminds me that fiction mirrors real life sometimes, and the near complete disregard of decency and mission is reality that shouldn't be ignored. Not that it matters, but I see you protestors and activists.

I was thinking this morning about the movie #Dredd and how everyone keeps complaining about the bad wigs. What they all missed is with the exception of domhnall gleeson's character and one or two others everyone is bald or has cropped short hair.
It's a post-nuclear apocalypse world--everyone loses their hair to radiation. Wigs would be a status item and gang mooks wouldn't be able to afford good ones.

Being a lifetime movie fan, there are a good number of movies that if I bump into them, I will watch to completion. #Dredd, #BTTF, #thematrix, etc.

One of the more odd ones is #zacksnyder's #Watchmen. I know that it gets a bunch of negativity but I love the story that it (and it's graphic novel origins) is telling.

I think the soundtrack is masterful in the tone and feel it works too convey. And uhe intro is perfection at introducing the viewer to the differences in the world they're viewing by showing glimpses of famous pop culture bent into the watchmen universe.

The story itself has numerous reveals and twists and I still recall my mouth hanging open at the ending but not having it play out in traditional Hollywood villain style. The characters feel broken and damaged but realistic to this world, each with a sense of morality somewhere on the spectrum.

I've seen several cuts of the film over the years, including the ultimate cut (which put the #BlackFreighter scenes back in) but I think theatrical is still my favorite. The pacing becomes disjointed with the black freighter scenes in the mix.

Anyway. Random movie ramblings, and while I'm at it: #KarlUrban should do a second Dredd. The first was so so so damn good.
