Droid progress sneak-a-peek. Testing two SSD1306 displays for eyes with same I2C address so they mirror each other when drawn to. I can't make it to squint but that's a limitation I'm willing to take for now 🤖

Today's R2-D2 progress is brought to you by tiny wires, Dupont connectors, and a slip ring. I've never done this before, and I'm sure these are terribly done, but we all start somewhere.

In case you were wondering what you're looking at, that tiny round board with 7 LEDs on it is what lights up inside the 3 Holo projectors on the dome. This is one of 3.

Those of you who follow my main account in Birdland may or may not know (because I have multiple accounts there) that I am a #DroidBuilder; one of my hobbies is making #StarWars #Droids and other sci-fi #Robots.

For various reasons, I tend to build obscure or unused @ConceptArt robots rather than the big names (though I have some in progress).

One of my recent builds is the latter: my interpretation of one of the designs for D-O by Luke Fisher.
