WOW, #Drupal7 end of life was just extended another 15 months! It was originally set to sunset last year on Nov 1st, but it got extended by a year to this Nov 1st.

Now it's extended to January 1, 2025.

As someone who still has a few very active #Drupal 7 sites that will be a beast to migrate, I can't like this announcement enough... but I do need to light a fire under my own butt to get those sites transitioned.

Had fun at the contribution sprint at #FLDC. Worked on solving a pet peeve of @ultimike. Going to try and fix it first in #BackdropCMS and then see if we can help unstick the issue in the #Drupal7 queue.

The most satisfying part of this #Drupal7 to #Drupal9 migration so far is the feeling of wrestling software into submission, bending it to your will.

Once that is done, I have to bulk insert subscriptions, set the expiry correctly, and then repeat the whole thing on the live site.

Where I am at with the #Drupal migration.
Pretty much all the content is migrated, and I have working templates.

Because the PHP filter was deprecated, I have had to rejig my subscriber content paywall (which is basically my living). That means splitting out one field into separate fields, which means writing a Perl script to split the field, update the original field and add Subscriber content to a separate field.

This is a bit scary.

I think I have a working migration for #drupal, from #drupal7 to #Drupal9. Now I just need to programmatically create a bunch of orders, handle expiry dates, extract text from one field and add it to another, and add some logic for subscribers. A Small Matter of Programming.
