Sometimes, as the sun sets in the #DryChaco region of #Paraquay, the sky turns a fireball color of red. Not just on the horizon, but also higher up in the sky. The intensity and magic of those sunsets were otherworldly. This has been a difficult week on top of an already rocky year. I’m a little lost and feeling like there is no solid ground on which to stand. Leaving this Paraguayan sunset as I tune out for a bit to regroup and process all the things. Peace and light to all those that need it.
Today for #InverteFest, a CW post. We found this spider on a road while night spotting for nocturnal animals in the #DryChaco region of #Paraguay (somewhere near #Filadelfia). Although I cannot identify down to the species, it was super cool to see my first #tarantula in the wild. Here is a short video of the Chaco Golden Knee Tarantula, if spiders are your thing: https://youtu.be/UR4Y9oEjORw. Also? The Gran Chaco is in serious peril; learn more at https://www.nature.org/en-us/what-we-do/our-insights/perspectives/saving-gran-chaco-la-nacion/.
