Really starting to think that the #Ingress developers have been reading Demon: The Descent (#DtD).

The 'new' faction, a red faction which as previously known as 'UNKNOWN' (in Zalgo-esque script), but is now called Machina seems to be an AI-emergent faction.

Now, the thought that we're doing 'ops' to secure 'infrastructure' and take down portals/nodes, etc against a large, unknowable force for reality... it may be gaining momentum.

Machina -> God Machine seems an easy leap.
