2-day #dtla rain total at ducommun st sensor came to 3.34" bringing the 2022-2023 hydrologic* season total to 33.34"

*because humans can't agree on anything, meteorologist say the rainy season goes from July 1 to Jun 30, while hydrologist go from Oct 1 to Sep 30.

So according to this, #Hilary probably went right over my house. lol.

It seems to have stopped raining. #dtla 24 hr total looks to be 2.2" or 2.9" depending on if you use the ducomm street sensor or LA city college.

I'm not sure how often the location/forecast cone data gets updated on the ventura county rain map.

It's let up a fair bit. That first round was 0.43" for LACC sensor at #dtla. 0.23"/hr precipitation rate the last hour.

Simply gutted today to see gouges in the wall of the shuttered Charlie O's / Down N' Out bar at the Alexandria Hotel, where the Guv'nor's Grille mascot raised his glass of cheer from 1961 until quite recently. A pox on the fink who took him! #esotouricroadtrip #signgeeks #DTLA

3.23" now. beginning as early as 4am tonight.

Makes me wonder if the projected track moved west some.

rainfall totals up a little more to 2.7" with most of it falling Sunday instead of Sun & Mon. But that's not the wild part. It's like what's left of the center of #Hilary will go right over us.

Check out the wild dip in pressure followed by rain rates jumping to .33"/hr at the same time winds jump from 8mph to 20mph. The wind directions also shift like you would expect from a cyclonic system passing through.

wunderground has upped the #rain forecast for #dtla again. it's now 2.24" arriving a little later at about 6a Sunday morning.

The cool thing about their 10-day forecasts is the "hourly liquid precipitation" line in green here. This is the all important rainfall rate. i.e if it approaches 0.5"/hr, expect mudslides.

Currently expecting a peak of 0.16"/hr around midnight sunday. Perhaps more important though is we'll be at or above .1"/hr for about 12 hrs, so I do expect street flooding.
