This weekend was our first taste of summer and this week’s wind has dried things out. The eucalypts have been dropping leaves and shedding bark. A rumble of thunder, then a quick, blustery downpour to drop the temperature a few degrees.

I’ve started my summer walking routine today, trying to beat the heat and 🦟🦟 It’s slow progress because I’m very easily distracted. I prefer fossicking to walking. There have been so many changes to the roadside vegetation in our third wet year. #PeriurbanEcology #Plants #MacroPhotography #Dubbo

My last major #soundscape work was a track I mixed from #fieldrecordings across 10 sites on a 170km stretch of the Wambuul Macquarie River from Burrendong Dam to Narromine NSW. I invited 3 local artists who’d never worked with sound before to write a personal response to the river & wove that into the track. Released on World Rivers Day (25 Sept) & live performed in #Dubbo last month. https://on.soundcloud.com/YubKu8yJPxE9cECaA
