Handed the bill tonight while still finishing drinks/coffee, an hour and twenty five minutes after being seated. A first for me in Ireland. I’d hoped to order an espresso and maybe linger for another 10 minutes chatting. It was almost 10pm at that stage so unlikely there was another sitting. Despite the food being lovely I doubt I’ll return.

Thanks Plants, a vegan producer from Smithfield, Dublin 7, sent me a festive roast to try out. I cooked it up tonight and I have to say I was impressed by the flavour and texture. Quite festive indeed and would make a great addition to a Christmas sandwich. I’m not yet fully converted from meat, but would not object to this one iota.

No Messin’ is a superb bakery based in #Dublin7 and today they sent me a sample of their mince pies.
I’ve bought these mince pies several times in the past, and I’ll be doing so again this year, as they really are the best around.
No Messin mince pies will be available at Proper Order Coffee Smithfield from Sat 26th and pre-orders open December 1st. Oh, and the brandy butter, made with Highbank apple brandy) is also rather good.
