By accident, I have just started a #firefox instance on an old profile, which still had #duckduckgo as the default search engine. I was super frustrated by the search results, started my current profile, entered the same couple searches with my new default engine #kagi and got happy again: Kagi just gives me what I want and not some SEO crap.

Not going back. #kagi please keep up the quality!

TIL when searching with #DuckDuckGo (DGG) you can navigate the search results with the keyboard.

Not sure who is to blame here, but using #DuckDuckGo to search for backups, you will get this description of the page for #Ashampoo Backup 17. 🤔 Guessing some metadata or SEO something is crosslinked.

Been trying out #duckduckgo beta app tracker blocker. It sets up a local VPn and blocks connections to know trackers.

@ItziPerkins Tanto como eso... No sé en qué pueda radicar una lentitud tan excesiva como para tardar semanas en vez de horas. Los navegadores por mucha diferencia de rapidez que haya entre ellos no es tan abismal.

De todos modos, mientras no sea algo enorme, yo prefiero "algo" de lentitud (mientras no sea exagerado) a cambo de proteger mi privacidad. Lo tengo claro. Y si fuera excesivamente lento ya buscaría otras solciones pero que no fueran en ningúncaso usar Chrome ni Edge, eso también lo tengo claro.

Mientras más extensiones tenga un navegador más se ralentiza, pero dos dos o tres no le pasa nada (yo tengo cuatro y no noto una lentitud desesperante para nada).

Otra cosa: no sé qué buscador usas, pero yop hace años que dejé de usar Google por #StartPage. Otra opción es #DuckDuckGo. Pasa como con los navegadores, estos dos no te espian y no tienen algoritmos que te muestran primero lo que les conviene.

@JoostThissen @jarno ik gebruik al jaren #duckduckgo en dat werkt, maar echt zuiver is het niet omdat die op de achtergrond bing gebruikt. Was er maar een echte federated open source zoekmachine.

@acarolarodrigues Também tenho usado o #DuckDuckGo. Ele bloqueia rastreadores conhecidos, não impede o aplicativo de manipular ou compartilhar dados processados remotamente pelo próprio serviço. Seria necessário bloquear toda a comunicação do app com a rede.

Uma preocupação adicional é se temos liberdade, entre outras, para estudar o código-fonte do DDG. Caso negativo, infelizmente é incerto o que ele mesmo faz com os dados que intercepta, por mais que prometa sigilo.

Oggi ho fatto una ricerca su #Google, #Bing e #DuckDuckGo.
uBlock Origin ha continuato a contare gli adv/tracciati bloccati che, nonostante non abbia più toccato nulla, continuavano a salire.

Questo è il risultato dopo 7 ore di quella stessa ricerca lasciata in standby:
- Google: 233 tracciati/adv
- Bing: 82 tracciati/adv
- DDG: 13 tracciati/adv
