Pondering whether or not to buy a duduk virtual instrument. It's inexpensive, beautiful and easy to play. But. Duduk has become so cliché and overused. I'm not sure if I want to use it.

The first time I heard something like this, I thought of Irish airs in terms of the expressiveness and the drone, though this is #Armenian #duduk. @Richard_Littler oh, my, goodness, I love this score. It was so, so much better than the film it accompanied, but that comment doesn't do it justice.

I think it's how I found out about Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and his music later helped pave the way for my conversion to #Islam.

It's perfect right down to the cover art.

Originally recorded in 1993 it is the #Armenian #duduk player’s 2nd album, now finally released on vinyl by All Saints Records.
Thanks to Michael Brook’s pared back production, there is a purity to this music which is instantly beguiling & very moving, simultaneously grabbing your attention & insisting you relax. My re-issue of the year so far.
