Duke Nukem 3D but it's a summer vacation episode. All the enemies, weapons, and items havehad their sprites changed to suit the beach theme. Otherwise it's more of the same but the level design is top notch. This is my favorite out of the official expansions.

Bueno, sí, la fecha es un dislate total, pero para mí es el momento en el que disfruto de esta obra a tope: veranito después de selectividad, en el curro solo me quieren para los fines de semana, #DukeNukem3D, el #DanoneFútbol, el #TransportTycoonDeluxe, los #SIMs en casa de un amigo... Y mientras tanto, musiquita.

Mi madre tiene un #casete pirata de este disco rulando por ahí, le doy una oportunidad más allá del típico momento #Exorcista y no puedo estar más satisfecho. Es una obra maestra total, sobre todo si te retrotraes 25 años (50 ya, ¡ay!) y piensas que nadie hacía cosas así.

Después vendrían los "regalos a mi madre" en forma de reediciones de sus discos en CD bajo la discográfica #Disky, ahora que Mike había recuperado los derechos de varios de sus #LPs, tras unos años batallando con la #Virgin, que le había dado la oportunidad pero ahora le daba la espalda en favor de artistas más actuales. De todos ellos, mi favorito sería #Crises, pero eso es otra historia.

No es un disco fácil, pero incluso le resulta original a quienes se resisten.

Ese mismo año de 1998 me compré la edición del 25 aniversario, en formato librillo con fotos y datos interesantes, pero ni en esta ni en el vinilo que ahora veis sale la de #DontGiveUp, de #PeterGabriel, que salía al final del casete para aprovechar el trozo de cara B sobrante. Es que era otro mundo.

Esta copia la he conseguido por 6 eurillos, aunque tiene algunos defectos que me molestan, pero ya llegará el momento de comprar algo realmente superior. Acaba de salir el doble LP remasterizado, pero no estoy por la labor de pagar los 46 € que vale. Ni la mitad, siquiera.

Salgo de trabajar de mi primer trabajo, con solo dieciséis años, y me uno a la manifestación en repulsa por el asesinato de Miguel Ángel Blanco. Me pillo unas hamburguesas en un bar, me voy a casa y aprovecho que no hay nadie para ponerme vídeos musicales grabados de la tele.

El vídeo de #WideOpenSpace, con sus vampiros y su musicón, me hipnotiza. Es el tema que le pones a tus amigos cuando les dices que te gusta Mansun y te preguntan "¿Marilyn Mansun?". Había tiendas de discos en las que te decían lo mismo y eso te permitía mirar al vendedor por encima del hombro a tus dieciséis añitos.

Acabo COU y la selectividad (la EvAU de ahora), con lo que tengo más tiempo para viciarme al #DukeNukem3D mientras me pongo música. Mi hermano se ha comprado el CD, lo pongo en la cadena.

Boom.

Los violines te envuelven desde el primer segundo, empiezan a entrar instrumentos y no puedes hacer nada. Eres suyo hasta el final de #DarkMavis con su #HiddenTrack, #AnOpenLetterToTheLyricalTrainspotter (que en esta edición, incomprensiblemente al ser doble LP, no está incluida).

Me vino bien caer en la #MansunManía un año y pico tarde porque, después de ese verano, sacaron su segundo disco, que me gustó aún más. Después vendría la compra compulsiva e impulsiva de singles con sobreprecio (ver su precio actual en #discogs es un poco decepcionante después del dinero invertido, aunque no lo hacía por eso) porque en cada lanzamiento incluían entre tres y siete canciones que no podías encontrar en ningún otro sitio.

Curiosamente, por aquel entonces empecé a diseñar páginas web y elegí dedicar todos mis esfuerzos al único sitio en español sobre la banda, lo que me permitió conocer a otros fans que hoy son grandes amigos.

Porque la música no son solo los discos.
