The impressive Devorgilla Bridge crossing the River Nith in Dumfries, one of the oldest standing bridges in Scotland. It was built in its current form to repair or replace a bridge from the 1430s that was partly destroyed in 1620/1. Myself and Loreburn Community Council are currently battling to save a park in Dumfries. As part of the Whitesands Flood Defence Project the Council want to concrete over a park for more car parking spaces.
What makes it particularly daft is that the Flood scheme may well never happen.

Sitting in the Scottish borders, the Langholm area is characterised by beautiful river valleys between green, rounded hills. The hills in the area covered by The Langholm Walks Booklet are not of great height – The highest point is 1705ft.- but many of them command magnificent views.
