A view of Rough Firth, an inlet on the Solway Firth in the Stewartry area of Dumfries and Galloway. Often overlooked as people head up to the drama of the highlands, this area is one of my favourite places and well worth a visit.

A small one today - the Stones of Glenterrow. Five boulders 2' to 3' high, four of them set in a rectangle with an outlier to the NE. The River Nith in spate in Dumfries earlier today. Levels have fallen since yesterday when they apparently reached record levels in the town's Whitesands area. #dumfriesandgalloway
