Dungeness crab season opens on Dec. 31 in #California. Last year we bought crabs right off the boat in #HalfMoonBay. I have never tasted crab this good before. We will be going back for more this year!

It's one of those special days at Pike Place Market where fishmongers, instead of throwing salmon for tourists (who usually don't end up buying anything), carefully toss upwards of $1,000 worth of Dungeness crab for large Chistmas Eve dinners. (We picked up some mussels and clams for cioppino.)
