(cont.) that led the party into #Undermountain via the module #DungeonOfTheMadMage. With the faction missions from Dragon Heist and the megadungeon underneath the city, plus some plot hooks from the characters’ background, there was already a slew of adventures to choose from! But wait, there’s more! For some fun in the wilderness I added hooks to #LostMineOfPhandelver and #DragonOfIcespirePeak. It was great utilizing so many modules to give choice!

There are interesting discussions today regarding fudging die rolls in #penandpaper #ttrpgs. My position is that I want to tell an interesting story. I root for my players. However, actions have consequences. I use Roll20 and almost all rolls are public. Only in some official #DND modules, like #DungeonoftheMadMage is the default set to DM rolls. That said, #DND #5E and especially some official modules suffer from a dependance on randomness that can make or break the game. This can be mitigated.

What #vtt are you using for your #ttrpgs ? I have been using Roll20 for several years and even subscribed, because I really like the dynamic lighting functionality, especially for #dungeon crawls like #DungeonoftheMadMage ( #DnD )! It still has a lot of issues and you have to buy the module from them (no PDF). A player of mine set up #foundryvtt for our #KultDL #KultRPG sessions, but, alas, I haven’t yet delved into it. #penandpaper #online
